 11/1/22,

Compatriots,

We will be holding our quarterly meeting of the Patrick Henry Chapter SAR this coming Saturday the 5th of November.  The meeting will be held in our usual location, the American Legion Post 16 on Greenview Drive in Lynchburg.  The meal this time will be Pizza.  Our Lunch and Social time will start at 11:30 am.  The Meeting will start at 12:00 and should be over by 1:00pm.

I have attached a copy of the Agenda to this email.

I have the Membership Certificates for:

Michael J. Hoisington

Thomas Friend Rothwell

Paul Charles Childress

I would like to present these on Saturday.

I also have awards for

Robert  Thornton

Charles Driscoll

Compatriots, our treasurer Charles Driscoll will be sending out the dues notices for the upcoming year later today.  I apologize for the lateness in sending them out, but we only received the information required to forward them out late last week.  The State has increased its dues by $5 so instead of a total of $75 for regular members the fee this year will be $80. This $80 amount is derived by adding the National fee $35 + The State Fee of $30 + the Chapter dues of $15.   Duel In-State members will pay only the Chapter dues of $15 as they pay their National and State dues through their primary Chapter.  Out of State Duels will pay the $30 State Fee and the $15 Chapter dues for a total of $45.  Junior members will pay a National fee of $5 and nothing more.

I look forward to seeing each of you at the meeting on Saturday

In Fraternity,

Mark R. Day, President Patrick Henry Chapter, Virginia SAR

Just a quick note to advise you of a few things

  1. Our latest Roster will now include 24 members and we are expecting to add several more soon.  I am very please to say one of our new members is Patrick Henry Jolly, who will be a duel member of our Chapter.  We also welcome the sitting President of the North Carolina SAR Compatriot Jay DeLoach as a duel member.  Both of these fine men are descendants of Patrick Henry.

  2. I had a called meeting of the Chapter Board of Managers on 9/20/21 to respond to a request from the registrar to set a chapter application fee.  This fee would be necessary to cover the cost of 1st class and priority mail expenses which occur during the application process.  In accordance with our Constitution Article V, which allows the BOM to fill vacancies and manage the affairs of the chapter, a quorum of the BOM, meet and voted to set the fee for Chapter new member applications at $12.00.
